How to Play Bingo

Bingo is a fun and educational game that can be adapted to any theme: words, numbers, images, or biblical and academic concepts. It is played with cards made up of a 5×5 grid (5 columns by 5 rows), each filled with a unique combination of items. The goal is to be the first to complete a specific pattern and shout “Bingo!”

What You’ll Need:

• One bingo card per player (5×5 grid)

• Bingo markers (buttons, coins, paper scraps, or a pen/marker)

• A set of call elements (can be words, phrases, images, or cards)

• One person to act as the game caller

• (Optional) Prizes for the winners ?

Free Space (Center Square)

The center space (third row, third column) is a free space and is considered marked from the start of the game.

It does count toward winning patterns.
For example, if a player has 4 marked squares in a row that includes the center, it counts as a full line.

However, in patterns where the center isn’t part of the shape (like “Four Corners”), the free space does not count.

How to Play:

1. Give one bingo card to each player.

2. Explain which pattern needs to be completed to win.

3. The caller announces one element at a time.

4. Players check their cards and mark the space if they have the item.

5. The first player to complete the winning pattern shouts “Bingo!”

6. The caller verifies the result and declares the winner.

Common Winning Patterns:

• Horizontal line (one full row)

• Vertical line (one full column)

• Diagonal (↘ or ↙)

• Four corners

• Full card (every square marked)
