The teaching sequence
The display supports the traditional historicist interpretation: the gold head represents Babylon; silver represents Medo-Persia; bronze represents Greece; iron represents Rome; iron and clay represent divided kingdoms; and the stone points to God’s eternal kingdom. Daniel 2:44–45 provides the concluding promise of a kingdom that will endure.
